שמונת הפסוקים להתמרת התודעה

1. נחוש להשיג את מירב התועלת המיטיבה האפשרית  

מכל היצורים החשים בעלי התודעה,  

שהינם יקרי-ערך יותר מכל אבן חן המגשימה משאלות,  

אוקיר אותם ביותר בכל עת.  

Determined to obtain the  greatest possible

,benefit from all sentient beings

Who are more precious than a wish fulfilling jewel, I shall hold them most dear at all times.

2. בעת שאהיה בחברת אחרים,  

אראה עצמי תמיד כַּנַחּוּת מבין כולם,  

וממעמקי ליבי,  

אוקיר את האחרים ואראה אותם כְּנַעֲלִים. 

When in the company of others

I shall always consider myself the lowest of all, 

And from the depths of my heart 

Hold others dear and supreme. 

3. ערני ודָּרּוּךְ,  

ברגע שתופיע בתודעתי אשליה מתעתעת,  

המסַכֶּנֶּת אותי עצמי ואת האחרים,  

אתעמת עימה בתַּקיפוּת ואסלק אותה,  

ללא דיחוי. 

Vigilant, the moment a delusion appears 

in my mind, endangering myself and others, 

I shall confront and avert it without delay.

4. בכל עת שאראה יצורים חשים בעלי נטייה להזיק,    

הכורעים תחת נטל פעולות אלימוֹת שליליוֹת וסבל,  

אוקיר אותם כנדירים,  

כאילו שמצאתי אוצר יקר-ערך.  

Whenever I see beings who are wicked in 

nature and overwhelmed by violent 

negative actions and suffering, 

I shall hold such rare ones dear, 

As if I had found a precious treasure.

5. כאשר, מתוך קנאה,  

אחרים מתעמרים בי

ועולבים בי וכיוצא באלו,

אקבל על עצמי את ההפסד ואציע להם את הניצחון. 

When, out of envy, others mistreat 

me with abuse, insults, or the like, 

I shall accept defeat 

And offer the victory to others.

6.כאשר מישהו שהיטבתי עימו 

ואשר תַּלִיתִּי בו את יהָּבִי,  

פוגע בי קשות,  

אראה את אותו האדם כמורה הרוחני הקדוש שלי.  

When someone whom I have 

benefited and in whom I have great hopes, 

Gives me terrible harm, 

I shall regard that person as my holy Guru.

 7.בקצרה, הן במישָּרִין והן בעקיפין,  

אעניק כל אושר וכל תועלת מיטיבה לכל אִמַהוֹתַּיי [היצורים החשים].  

אקח על עצמי בחשאי,  

את [תוצאות] כל פעולותיהן המזיקות  

ואת כל סבלן.  

In short, both directly and indirectly, 

do I offer every happiness and benefit to all 

my mothers. 

I shall secretly take upon myself 

All their harmful actions and suffering

8.כשתודעתי אינה מוכתמת בכתמי האמונות הטפלות  

של שמונה הדאגות הארציות,  

מי ייתן שאני, באמצעות תפיסת כל התופעות כאשליה,
אשתחרר מכבלי ההיאחזות.

Undefiled by the stains of the superstitions 

of the eight worldly concerns, 

may I, by perceiving all phenomena as illusory, 

be released from the bondage of attachment.
